ABLC SawTooth 空氣力學邊界層控制鋸齒技術
我們全新的 Sawtooth 鋸齒形渦洞排列設計含有 12 個節點,當車速到達 20mph (32.2kph) 時,氣動剪切速率精確地達到 50Hz。Sawtooth 鋸齒形渦洞排列,使輪圈形成的渦流層發展到小尺寸即會脫離,且形成較高的自然頻率,這會減少在輪圈剖面氣流遮蔽側的層流氣泡效應,可進一步減少高偏航角時的阻力和增進側風的穩定性。

 

COGNITION 碟煞花鼓組 
傳統花鼓每次滑行時,棘輪機構間的磨擦力,猶如鼓式煞車一樣,會使騎士減速。有了 Cognition 花鼓的 Axial ClutchTM 軸向離合技術,可在滑行時解開棘輪機構,將阻力減少。我們的測試結果顯示,即使是最好的傳統三棘爪式花鼓,轉動阻力仍是配備了我們 Axial Clutch 軸向離合技術的 Cognition 後花鼓的兩倍,另外採用類似傳動機構的知名花鼓組,則測出四倍的轉動磨擦阻力。

所有 NSW 輪圈皆是在印地安那波里斯手工打造而成,也就是 Zipp 進行開發、製造、測試的場所,以及 NSW 的誕生處,老巢 (The Nest) 前瞻開發實驗室的所在地。

ImPress 印刷技術 
我們採用 Zipp 的 ImPressTM 印刷科技,直接將圖形印在輪圈上,使輪圈上的渦洞可以完全達成設計上的效果 – 控制渦流脫離,即空氣脫離輪子的速率。控管氣流對穩定度非常重要,ImPress 印刷技術也使 NSW 輪組具有獨特的平順外觀。

 

SawTooth  鋸齒形框體
為 Zipp NSW 專利的 53/58mm 變框高輪圈技術。運用新興科學-仿生學的原理,Zipp 的工程師們利用風洞試驗、CFD以及實地測試,展開了 SawTooth 框體嚴謹的空氣力學研發流程。最終的框體構形,採用了大自然最為精巧的設計方案,並結合工程架構的準確性,造就了前所未有的輪組性能表現。

此款專利框體構形,作到了傳統空氣力學輪組難以企及的目標;同時降低了空氣阻力和側向力,創造出極致的 AeroBalance 氣動力平衡。Sawtooth 框體藉由一系列專利的魚鰭狀 Hyperfoil 輪框內圈凸緣,加上我們新式的 HexFin ABLC 渦洞,共同提升了氣流表現。其心血結晶便是 Zipp 有史以來最高性能的輪組,包括減少空氣阻力,並降低所有偏航角下的側風側向受力。這一點十分重要,因為較大偏航角的側風,正是單車的操控能力受側風影響最為嚴重的情況。

Hyperfoil 內緣節點

HexFin ABLC dimples  鰭狀排列六角形渦洞空氣力學邊界層控制技術
HexFin ABLC 渦洞,即是我們 Sawtooth 鋸齒構形 NSW 輪圈的 Hyperfoil 節點周圍的六角形凹孔。每個凹孔上的多角形渦洞增強了邊界層的氣流混合效果,有助於氣流保持貼合於輪圈表層,以減少空氣阻力並增進側風下的穩定性。為了進一步增強六角形渦洞的效果, 而以多種大小不同的渦洞,集中排列為鰭片狀,與 Sawtooth 輪圈的 Hyperfoil 節點凸緣共同發揮功效。

 

AXIAL CLUTCH
With Cognition's Axial Clutch technology, we've reduced this drag by disengaging the ratchet mechanism when coasting. With less internal hub drag a rider can pedal less when drafting in a headwind, achieve higher speeds when coasting in an aero tuck, or opt to stop pedaling a moment sooner before entering a comer and bank that wattage for use exiting the comer. Axial Clutch technology also allows riders to maintain speed through comers that don't require braking input, thereby increasing corner exit speeds. Inside the Axial Clutch mechanism, we use magnets, rather than steel springs, to move and engage our light weight Metal Injection Molded (MIM) ratchet rings for unmatched reliability and consistent operation. With 36 points of engagement that all interlock simultaneously, there isn't a more secure freehub mechanism on the market.

 

AeroBalance 氣動力平衡
Zipp's sole mission is to help you go faster. That's why our wheels are race-ready before they're camera-ready. For years, Zipp has used a combination of testing methods 一 wind tunnel, CFD computer simulations, pro athlete evaluations, on-road testing, and the RollingRoad ride simulator - to refine aero performance to new levels of excel I e nee. Over the decades of innovation, our engineers have earned to look beyond just focusing on simply reducing aero drag. In stead, the goal now is to reduce aero drag while also minimizing the effects of crosswinds on handling. This optimizing of aero efficiency and crosswind stability became known internally at Zipp as AeroBalance. The approach began with Firecrest technology and has been advanced with the introduction of the NSW lineup, especially with the Sawtooth technology found in the 454 and 858 NSW. Sawtooth accomplishes this with a series of patented fin-shaped Hyperfoil nodes along the inner diameter of the rim that work together with our new HexFin ABLC dimples for improved airflow.

 

XDR
The XDR driver body is a universal mounting system for cassettes that incorporate cogs with fewer than 11 teeth. It allows for lighter and more versatile drivetrains without requiring new rear axle slandards, cassette tools, or hub redesig ns. The XDR interface is 1.85mm Ion ger than XD and is designed for road hub applications. XDR driver bodies are compatible with all XD cassettes when the cassette is installed with a 1.85mm spacer.
